Carla Venter

Carla Venter is a chartered accountant, an MBA graduate, and the founder of Money with Carla, one of South Africa's most followed personal-finance platforms.

She grew up in Volksrust on a strict family budget, then built a career in finance across South Africa, the UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland, from KPMG and Deloitte to investment roles in London and Zürich. After all of it, surrounded by the smartest people in finance, she realised no one had ever taught her how to manage her own money, so she taught herself.

She started Money with Carla with a single mission: to make smart investing accessible to every South African, whatever their income or background. In just over two years, her free weekly videos and podcasts on YouTube and Spotify, and a very engaged Instagram audience, have grown into a community of more than 140,000.

She lives in Stellenbosch with her husband and two young children. Money with Carla is her first book, published by Penguin Books.
